The Basque Country in northern Spain is divided in three regions. Vizcaya, Alava, and Guipuzcoa. They are 3 provinces whose capitals are Vitoria in Alava, with a population of 300,000 inhabitants, Bilbao is the capital of Vizcaya with more than one million inhabitants an almost 700,000 live in the capital San Sebastian or Donostia.
The main city in Euskadi is Bilbao, being the most populated, and has over 400,000 inhabitants. Next is Vitoria, with almost 250,000 people and San Sebastian with 200,000 inhabitants. Of these cities, we would like to mention localities like Baracaido, Iran, Santurce, Portugalete, Basauri, and Rentaria all of these places with less than 100,000 inhabitants.
Euskadi's gastronomy is delicious. Tourists come to see places like the Guggenheim Museum, the Playa de la concha beach, Vitoria, or Gernika, with its rural tourism. There are hundreds of small municipalities in its interior that you can visit.
Beaches like La concha in San Sebastian, or Zarauts and Mundaka beaches to go surfing, Sopelana, interior paradises like Marquina or Markina, festivals in Lekeitio, and so many other places you can visit during your holiday in Euskadi.
